In 2015, the alter-ego Local Foreigner appeared as a response to the confused socio-political climate surrounding ideas of locality and foreignness.
Local Foreigner is interested in the tensions, intensity and resonance of life and how these can manifest through art. Its work is primarily manifested through Live art, clothing, sound and DJ.
Local Foreigner is interested in the underlying current of these tensions, that point to a society in a psychological and existential collective crisis.
For the past 4 years nearly 400 hundred people from across the world's 5 continents have wore Local Foreigner clothing for different reasons: wether as a political statement, towards a sense of belonging and connection, as an art material, a dialogue starter etc. This project has transcended me and gain life of its own. It has become a work of many people, and about many people.
